This has nothing to do with wine making but we do drink good wine after.
There is about 20 of us going on a kayaking trip the first weekend in April, 3rd, 4th, back home on the 5th. We are going to Kayak the Buffalo River in Arkansas. We are staying in Jasper, Arkansas. Some stay in cabins (like me) and others camp out. It is so much fun and a good group of people. It will be about a 5 hour run. After, we have a cook out and drink lots of good wine. I was just wandering if anyone was interested. We try and do about 3 or 4 trips a year. In October there is a race right there in Carrollton, Texas, some of usdo that one. The Trinity River. It's lots of fun also. If anyone is interested just let me know and I will give you more information.

Sounds like fun. I wish Ilivedcloser. We kayak 4 or 5weeks out of the summer. We kayakdown the OcoeeRiver (home of the 96' olympics) The river comes straight from the mountains. Last time out the air temp was 96 degrees and the water was 53 degrees.

A good sectionfor kayaking if the river is up is the stretch between Boxley and Ponca. Doesnt get used that much and has some nice class 11 if the river is up.
I would come up and go with you but my frame ( aka fat butt) doesn't do well in a kayak. I do love canoeing on the Buffalo tjhough. Back in "78" we did a 2 week float on it. Camping and fishing, exploring, etc. What an experience that was.
I know you will be having a great time, whatever stretch you float

Waldo, that is the stretch we are planning on doing Boxley-Ponca if the river is up. We are hoping for rain. We did Broken Bow last Octber Lower Fork. It was a blast. I fell out of my Kayak twice and the water was 48, I froze my butt off the rest of the way. There is a fun place in Broken Bow calledGirls Gone Wine. After a visit there I was not cold any longer. These four ladys make their own wine and sell it and it is really good. If you are ever there check it out.

Will have to check them out next time i'm up that way. Take lots of good pictures for us

Waldo, I will take lots of pictures and then I will need you help on how to post them.

Rocky Top, I'm from Nashville, TN. I love that area, lots of trees. Here in Oklahoma you don't have any trees unless you plant them. Oklahoma is hot, dry, flat and no trees. The cost of living is really good though.
