Would there be any value in adding a sticky in the Kit section where people can rate the kits they've made? Being very new to this, I know what kinds of wine I like to drink, but plan to venture into some other things as well. Knowing what kits work for people and maybe even why would be nice. Maybe it's already there and I just haven't seen it. :d

The Winemaker Magazine conference is this weekend in the Finger Lakes. In few days the winners of their contest will be announced. Take a look at the list and see what kits have medaled.

Searching the kit section is easy enough and you can always ask if you don't find what you're looking for there. Can we do a rating type poll of the various kits?

I never saw that before. Is that new? Looks great! I'll have to start using it.

Very cool. How does one get a particular kit added? I've only done three so far, and am about to start my fourth; but I didn't see any of them.

Never noticed it. Perfect! Will start rating today.

I have bookmarked the Kit Review section. I think it'll be a very valuable resource, especially for newbies like me, once kitmakers begin to add their reviews. Someone spent a lot of time and work adding all of these kits. I'd hate to see all of that work go for naught.

I posted a review. http://www.winemakingtalk.com/reviews/italian-montepulciano-selection-international.html
Is this what y'all would expect in a review? I think the price field should be optional rather than a required field. I destroy any evidence of how much I pay for wine kits and supplies. :mny

I like it tonyt. And it's good to hear any variations like your addition of Hungarian oak cubes. Being a rank no-nothing, though, I don't know what a "bit" of oak cubes is. :) I find the price helpful too because already I have found rather large price swings over a few suppliers, for example, winemakersdepot has the kit for $123.50 while midwestsupplies has it for $115.99. I'm not going to get stuck on a few bucks, just saying it's nice info to have. Perhaps the price in the review could reflect the MSRP?
