Location, location, location. Nothing could be truer right now. We are trying to finish up with a snowstorm right now just before May after one of the warmest springs on record so far.

I won't bore you all with yet another picture of snow, but my wife came in this AM and summed it up. It's Yuck,Yuck,Yuck Gross outside. Things continue to be coated, even more this AM as the snow came down hard again last night. Luckily there are only a few inches coating evreything. Less than 10 miles from home to the west they received 15.5 inches of snow. Ten miles to the north, they got over 12 inches. To the east across Lake Champlain and a bit north they got over a foot also and just a little farther away in Vt they got 20.1 inches.

The power keeps flickering this AM and there are over 30000 houses without power this AM so I am lucky to be online.

I look forward to fast forwarding until tomorrow to get rid of this white stuff and then the weekend so it will be in the 70's and 80's.

At least it hasn't spawned any tornados like the south and midwest.

Snow?? It's the end of April for crying out loud. I feel for ya

Mushrooms are about done and dandelions are ready for the pickin!

but how are the buds?

we hit 32.9 last night,...i am going over to check now

I may be complacent, but I don't worry about the buds a lot in a wet heavy snow. Yes the temps are just above freezing, the buds still tight. When it gets to 28, then I worry.

I once had a field of several acres of sweet corn 10-12 inches tall that got buried under 4 inches of snow in early June. It came out just fine and was some of the earliest I ever had. That was when I used to grow 40 acres of sweet corn a year, a few acres of tomatoes and other assorted veggies.
