Make port with finished wine?

I have a couple of gallons of pear wine that I am not real happy with. Is it possible to make port using a finished dry wine, sugar and brandy?

I would not quite it a port but you could certainly fortify it. Make sure you do taste test first though. Might want to consider adding oak to it if you have not already.
