Yes, it is snowing in San Antonio! Just a bit though...enough to screw up the roads. So I am staying home and working on wine today -any excuse! I am looking at MAlbec and MAlbec blend kits. Does anyone have any favorites?
Thanks!
Kim

Can you wait a year? I just made the WE Selection International, and I have the CC Showcase in the queue! Sorry, no real help, but I will say the WE SI looks (tastes) promising.

The RJS EP Chilean Malbec was the #1 wine in last years competition.
The WE Selection International Argentinian Malbec was #47 (out of 100)
The CC Showcase Argentinian Malbec was #54 (out of 100)

Decisions, decisions…...

Hey have you been to the home brew store in San Antonio? I live at the quarry and never want to take the drive up there. I just get everything online.

When I lived in San Anto, it only snowed once and there were traffic jams of people going to the Alamo to take their picture in the snow.

I made that RJS EP Chilean Malbec and it was fantastic, getting better all the time...

Ive been to both home brew party stores and the home brew store off St MAry's. Home brew party has limited kits, priced too high for me. I buy odds and ends there, folks that work there that I've talked to are more about brewing beer. Guy at the store off St MAry's that just moved knows his stuff and there used to be enough customers where someone else could answer a question if he couldn't, I haven't been there since they re-opened -not even sure if they have already reopened. We will usually order online or take a trip to Dallas --woohoo! Last time I ordered several kits From Fine Vines I went to pick them up and all was closed b/c of the ice storm in Dallas, George came in and opened the store just for us to pick up a few things (4 kits plus some accessories) we liked the Christmas sale what can I say. Created a pretty loyal customer if we hadn't been already due to their outstanding customer service and willingness to help answer questions.

THANKS I should've thought to check that list!

I made the CC Showcase Argentina Malbec in the fall and when I sampled it at 6 weeks... let's just say it has a long way to go.

Ya I get most all my kit from few sites. I get the eclipse kits for $115. So happy with that. I use northern brew for other things.

I assume this is from something like Winemaking magazine? Is this list available online, or only to subscribers?

Thanks,

awww, I can't find the EP Chilean malbec for sale anymore:slp:(

Thanks,

It was in the dec-jan 2013/14 WineMAker mag. IT is pretty cool because it is cross-referenced by varietal/category besides just the top 100 list. NO tasting notes though.

When I go to the magazine and do a search a link pops up for this articles but it is blank on my computer screen. I don't know if it is just my limited computer skills or what. See if you can look at it if you can't and you're interested, I can probally wrestle with my scanner! PM me your email and I'll see what I can do!

Yeah, it is blank for me, too. If you go to the table of contents for that (or any other) issue, it appears that there is some content put online, and some that is not. This one appears to be "not."

Thank you for the kind offer, but it is not worth scanning it for me. I have a pretty deep queue as it is!

Edited to add: Never mind! Thank you, Mike!

CRAP I made this one in August

WE Selection International Argentinian Malbec was #47 (out of 100)

Jury is still out.

I'll put RJS EP Chilean Malbec on the wish list
