After watching the 2hp compressor vacuum degassers I`m wondering if this hand powered pump will be a good tool for degassing for faster aging results such as the gas getter? I have not been able to find the specs on it ie vacuum or psi, but it can pull cold oil so i imagine it will be decent. Basically good for alternative for hand version and possibly for multiple batches...? Seemingly available everywhere for under 90 bucks, would need to added guage.

(To be used in conjunction with allinone which does not recommend sustained vacuum for degassing)

I know someone who imploded a 1 gallon carboy with one but not sure it has enough power to do a 6 gallon carboy. That being said it will burn it out very fast as I have been told by many who have tried and I really dont advise putting a vacuum on glass without knowing how MUCH vacuum you are putting on it. I dont recommend putting more then 32" of vacuum on a 6 gallon carboy and that would be full, less then full and Id cut the vacuum waaaaaaaaay down.

Certainly a guage will need to be added and if it can inplode a 1 gallon i imagine it will have the ability to generate 20 to 25" and more importantly for many batches at the same time, with zero noise and little effort. The site says it cabn bleed brake like the hand hels used to generalt 25"

My mityvac has a gauge , it works fine, but I don't think I could pull more than 25# even if Popeye were to help

I just saw this post - The Allinone is designed to remove CO2 every time you rack - so there is no need to put it under a continuous vacuum. I have found that splash racking will pull alot more CO2 out rather than to pull a continuous vacuum.
