I have 2 batches that are going to be ready for stabilizing and racking in the next 3 weeks. I am also going to be moving across town on April 13th. What is the best way to move my carboys or does it really matter that much?

You can move a full carboy. Just wrap them in blankets, don't have them touching each other and drive carefully. In 2011 it flooded here I lost my home......but saved all my wine. We moved all my wine to my brother-in-laws place which was a 40 min. drive from my place. Moved 44 cases & 5 - 6 gallon carboys to his place and back to our new home without an incident. Just be careful and don't let anyone with butter fingers carry the carboys LOL!!

I moved 5 full carboy's from No. Ga. To SW Fl this past fall. 660 mi. & NO problems. Carboys in milk crates, stuffed so they wouldn't shift around. Air locks taped in place. your move should be a piece of cake! Roy

Use solid stoppers and some duct tape to keep them in. Replace with airlocks when you get to where they will be at home.

I was curious so I had a look. Going across town in Paragould is about 8 miles. My suggestion is to use a solid bung (if you have one) and secure it with something easy to remove like masking tape. That's just to make certain you don't spill the wine. There are no issues with the wine, itself. Driving across town will be less activity for the wine than racking it and a lot less harmful than the typical bottle goes through to get to your store.
