Need Microscope info

I purchased three microscopes tonight and was wondering if any of our resident scientists could give me any information on them as far as how good they are, value etc. They are National Optical model 142. I've found 162 on the internet but not 142. I went to an auction and they were selling numerous styles by the pallet at a local university. I talked them into selling the last pallet by the case which consisted of three scopes each. I have a feeling the pallets were selling for less than the price of one scope.

They look nice, I don't remember the last time I used one. Long, long time ago to look at surface degradation of some beryllium coupons I think.

Wine can look awesome under a scope. You can also learn to identify wine faults once you get an image to compare it to. I waiting for a new app to come out the has a whole host of things to look for under a scope with wine. I think it is UC Davis that is coming out with the app. I could not find a reference book that used to be available but being replaced by this app.

I would be very interested in this app and also would like to know if you would sell me one of your three scopes??????/

John, I think I am kicking myself for not buying three more. Only one bulb was working so I ordered three from Cynmar. I was so excited about getting them up and running I forgot to order anything else I might need like slides. I am keeping one and the others are already sold, sorry.
