What is everyone's take on sanitizing new bottles, pretty sure commercially they don't do but was wondering what some of you are doing.

I sanitize, maybe I don't need to and maybe I am too paranoid, but I sanitize.

I rinse them, give them a shot of k-meta out of my spray bottle, let em sit for 15 min. or so, dump any liquid that mite be in them and use em. Actually don't really think they need to be rinsed, but it makes me feel better. Also look them over that way make sure there are no cracks, chips, or whatever. Arne.

Commercially they are not sanitized again. Sparge with nitrogen to blow out cardboard dust and air. At home I use my vinator to rinse with meta solution and hang on tree then bottle immediately. I do not let them hang to dry unless if it's going to be several hours before I can bottle. Either way it doesn't matter.

Not that I've been doing this so long but I always rinse and sanitize. It's cheap insurance. Why would you want to risk wasting the expense and work you are putting into your wine?? ;)

I use one step with a bottle rinser and let stand up side down til I am ready to fill.
