Norton tonight! How about you????

Due to the kindness of Boatboy24, I have an abundance of Norton wine now to compare. I cannot possibly see how a bottle of it will not be consumed tonight, after I mow 2 acres of lawn.

The first is a dreaded chore, the second an anticipated delight.

I'll probably drink another of the Alabama version again tonight, but perhaps I will get an SG reading this time before I start. It depends on whether I can contain my thirst long enough. Who knows?

If I get to feeling right, around midnight maybe I'll drunk-call Arne. :)

What you drinking?

Sounds like a great plan! Take a Norton sip for me. I just can't say how much I like that variety.

Enjoy Jim!

I was "this close" to opening the Chrysalis Norton tonight, but went with a Cab instead. Do let us know what you think of the Norton.

Ya didn't call and I was awake. Most days there is only one 12 oclock. Phones don't work the best at the lake and that was where I was. You mite of tried and no service. Probably been a drunk call back at ya tho. Drank almost half a bottle of skeeter pee. Bottled in a gal. LOL, Arne.

Well, the Monday morning report.

Friday I drank a bottle of Southern Oak Wines' Norton. Tested right at 1.00 on hydrometer. That stuff is too good. I have to make some like that or I will go broke at $11.99 a bottle. Now I need to test and taste the Horton and Chrysalis.

Sue was like, ICK, because she does not like dry tannic wines. So Saturday we opened up two bottles of Morgan Creek Winery's Carlos Muscadine, a white sweet wine. Typical oily muscadine smell, very good flavor. She had two glasses, and she normally does not drink. Um, well you know where the REST went! Down the hatch!

Sunday afternoon I rebottled my 5 gallons of first-run muscadine into gallon jugs and stuck them in a fridge to drop tartrate. In 3 weeks, I should be good to bottle it. I'd say it is the best wine I have ever made.

Sunday before bed, opened a bottle of my second pressing muscadine, just as a test to see if the remaining four bottles will be OK for Fourth of July at a friend's place. ;) Very nice; definitely a second pressing, but very nice.

I did not try to call you Friday, Arne. You would not have understood me anyway. :D
