I'm makeing the WE Chardonay Semillon kit. It is the first one i have made with oak powder.

I just pitched the yeast today. Do I need to be stiring it each day to get the oak to sink better? Or, do i close up the lid until day 5 when i check SG. The kit does not mention any stirring, but I thought i read that some stir oak chips. What about oak powder in these kits?

Having run a Ferment on Premises, I have made a lot of kits containing oak powder. Basically I try to stir it in to the must, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Then ignore for 7 days.
