I saw the moon this morning on my way to work. It kind of surprises you when you are not expecting to see it when you wake up.
Really pretty.

I will be out there tomorrow morning harassing the turkeys. In a couple of weeks I will start bow hunting.

Swill,

Those poor bows won't stand a chance with you hunting them down all mercilessly and like.

What is a bow swill...I have hunted turkey, deer, hogs, rabbits, squirrels, and another place o fish but cant recall ever hearing of or hunting bows. What kind of critter are they?

They are hard to find you can hunt all season and not see a one. If you're lucky enough to get one they can be some prettyhard chewin.

NW, you are right, Hunter's Moon. I thought it was the Harvest Moon.
Very beautiful wherever we are all observing it. Good thing is, we take the time to notice.

We too feel it should be the Harvest Moon in Oct. instead of Sept....We have the regular firearm deer hunting in Nov and feel that should be the Hunter's Moon.

So if I understand correctly
Its through the woods you go
Moving Stealthy and very slow
Eyes searching
for that elusive "Bow"
If your fortunate
and kill one
Youhave toboil it long and slow
For that chicken flavor to begin to show

Up here in the spring they hunt "Bow"fin with spears and bows. Maybe that is the Bow you are hunting? They taste just like fish, not chicken- unless grilled and smoked!

How's the Turkey hunting going Swill?

Last weekend was the first of muzzle loading season here, but I was too busy to go out before today. I went out at 3:30 today and had my tag filled at 5:45. Like they say on one of them hunting shows when the deer in the back of the pickup is less than stellar" That's gonna be some good eating!"

Well I should have been deer hunting appleman. I had them walking all over me. They were 10 yards or less. The turkeys were no where to be found. At least they did answer or come to my call. But I have a lot of time yet. I have until around the first of December.

Congrats on the deer. Those horns are about like eating a bow. They are not very good.
