I just racked a 6 gallon batch of what i call redneck special to another glass carboy. The fermenting was finished. It is under lock now for a bit of aging. I added what i believe is the standard .44 grains of sodium metabisulfate per gallon. I want to add sorbate. I checked my note file and it said 5.5 grains for 5 gallons.
I looked on the bottle and it says 1/2 teaspoon per gallon. Jacks website also says 1/2 teaspoon per gallon.

I will use the 1/2 teaspoon per gallon unless i can find out diferently.
I just wonder where i got the 5.5 grain info from.

Will anyone advise me please.

I'm not sure where you got the 5.5 grain from (unless that's how much 2.5 tsp weighs), but I've always added the 1/2 tsp per gallon to my wines.

Its probably just a mistake i made. Im only in this a few months. Ill just change it.
I went through my note card file and found the error in 2 places.
