I just cleared, stabalized, and then added the fruit pack. It is sweet and smells great.

I don't think this will last long. I'm ordering some new cigars to pair it with.

Anyone got any suggestions which food to pair it with?

Orange Chocolate Port works great with Chocolate of any kind but I find dark the best. I have toyed trying it as a reduction for glazed ham just not actually tried it yet.

I gave a bottle of my Raspberry Chocolate Port to a neighbor only to find out she cooked or glazed a pork roast with it!!! :re Sorry, Im no help with this wine as I did a dble batch knowing I love chocolate covered orange peels and figured this would be pretty close but I ended up not liking this port and distributed the wine to someone on this site. I do still have a few bottles just to give here and there and maybe taste after like 10 years. The batch I had was like 3 years old when I finally decided to get rid of it.

Can you share why you didnt like it? I've been considering trying this type of a wine, from scratch... Having not tried the kit yet either though, that thought has just been on the back burner.. But anything to avoid, would help out when i do get around to it.

Wade just did not like it. He sent me a bottle and I shared it and everyone loved it. I did a kit last year and a double batch this year.

Just wasnt what I was expecting I guess. I myself didnt taste any orange at all and really not much chocolate either. REally cant describe what it tasted like to be honest.

I gotcha.. Just curious - the from-scratch-batch, im looking forward to.. I just have plans for my empty carboys at the moment so... Someday!

Ok, I filtered, added a bottle of brandy, and then bottled. I had a half bottle for tasteing left over. I gave a small sample to a neighbor and she said it's already better than the $25 per bottle stuff she buys. WOW...................I guess I realize why this stuff never makes it to full maturity. All I can say it better not get worse with aging.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Tasted a lot of chocolate but not much orange

I did taste a lot of chocolate but not any orange. I'm not sure if the brandy competed with it, or the orange flavor comes with age.
