I love to read and used to read 3 books or so a week back in my younger days. Now I am lucky to get one book read in 3 months. Life and work have gotten in the way. But with retirement getting closer I have been stocking up on reading material. That's 8 stacks of pocketbooks in the back, some non-fiction on the front left and my Richard Bach collection on the front right. It's good to have a plan.

Agree! Like you, I've always enjoyed reading, mostly history and biography in recent years. Also like you, I prepared for retirement by accumulating hundreds of books; when my wife grumbled about the purchases, I just said they were "for my retirement years." I finally did actually retire a few months ago -- but I'm still so busy that I have to deliberately set aside time for relaxing with a good book(!)

And, none of that e-book stuff for me -- I like the feel of a real book.
