Please back up your computer

So Oklahoma has had some bad weather recently and while our house did not get blown away, we have lost electricity 3 time in the last month.
Each time the electricity was out from 5 to 12 hours.
The results of that is we now have a bad hard drive, it had to replaced.
My wife is all upset about the lost pictures, but I am upset about losing my wine making records (and some vehicle maintenance records).

I did have a thumb drive that had been backed up about 5 months ago so all is not lost. I just wanted to send out an encouragement to back up your stuff.

I keep all of my winemaking records on Google Drive for this reason.

I thought there was a new program out for recovering data from bad hardrives now. It was mentioned on here before.

My computer and my whole life is continuously backed up on triplicate.

I have redundant backups.
The three rules I had for my IT department:
1. Back up
2. Back up
3. Back up

That is great for you all.

From a guy that is "computer challenged" I just have a lot to learn. That is one of the reasons I don't put pictures on here or post much, I simply don't have the patience to wade through all of the stuff involved.

I need to learn more, but when I start trying, it seems I end up erasing stuff or doing something wrong. It just makes me look stupid and I honestly don't need any help doing that.
