My late uncle gave me a liberty dime a few decades ago. He was an avid golfer and had it, or maybe was given, a laser welded old-style metal golf spike on the back of the coin. It’s now a ball marker.

Not as much as you think. Retail on that coin, if not welded, is probably $4 to $5. Actual sale price would be less

I was figuring the value of the silver in the coin at today's prices, which would be a little over $2. When I was actively golfing, I used a penny. Worked great.

It looks like it was a fantastic evening for viewing the northern lights. They appeared even as far south as us here in northern NM. The lights show up much better with your phone pics than to the naked eye.

Something that many don't realize is the size of this rocket.

If you listened to the entire broadcast from SpaceX, this is just a test rocket. More like the Saturn 1. The next one they are building is 1/3 bigger. the actual Mars version of the booster will be twice as big and fully reuseable with a design turnaround time of 1 week between launches. The idea is to launch multiple upper stages into orbit and assemble a BIG grouping of the upper stages together with a large booster to send 500 to Mars at one time. Then separate and land on Mars. That is one idea for the future after several missions to build the base camp. They can launch every 26 months on average for the shortest travel time about 7 months of travel.
But first we need to get there first. and that is about 2 years away.
