No kidding! I can't remember what my pineapple fermented like but I added coconut extract to it and it actually turned out to be a pretty tasty wine.

I'm still waiting for the 40 bottles of green tomato wine to turn the corner into something good, been going on 2.5 years

Mine fermented fine, smelled wonderful. Then as it aged it started smelling worse and worse. Opened the carboy this morning and thought I was going to choke to death before I could get it poured out..

So now ,, what is our winemaking lesson for the day???? Should we take notes?? LOL

My pineapple wine didn't smell bad at all during fermentation or after. I didn't care for it as a young wine. But I left one bottle for a year and it was very good. I took that last bottle to a party with other wine drinkers and they all thought it was very good. Something must have gone wrong or you need to let it age.

The only pineapple that I've made that turned out good was Skeeter Pee. I made a batch of Pee and back sweetened with Old Orchard Pineapple Concentrate.
