OK, so the New kid may have another opportunity to overcome. Just bottled my seocnd batch... an old vine zinfandel. When corking around 4 of the bottles didn't cork as I would like. Instead of receeding @ 1/4" into bottle, these are sticking up about 1/4-3/8" above bottel lip. They are standing erect in kitchen for the next 48 hours. my question; SHOULD I go ahead and decork and do these over or wait48 hours to see what they do before I lay them down for aging.

Are they more full then others or did you just have corker trouble with a dble lever hand corker? If they are over full then the pressure just wont let the cork go in all the way. Just drink them first, should be fine.

No corker problems. THEY MIGHT HAVE A TEENY BIT MORE IN THE BOTTLES. T
