I've seen PWP's pic of carboys for marbles and I think it's a brilliant idea, but I gotta ask, how in the world do you rack off the marbles? Do you leave whatever is in between them? I assume you wash and pre-rinse with a k-meta solution before you put them in.

I lost my marbles a long time a go or was that yesterday any-who I don't have an answer for you. Thought i would waste everybody's time bywriting this.

Tip the carboy slowly and gently as the level nears the bottom, then pull out just as the racking tube begins to get sediment. Your assumption is good - wash and sanitize well.

The nice thing about the mables (besides the fact that they are pretty)is they help to hold the sediment. The tipping method is what we use to get the last of the wonderful wine.

I used the marbles on a mead I made and then added a couple of the marbles to each bottle of mead and called it my "Marbled Mead" Edited by: Waldo

Thanks for the info!
