hi all at the start my sg readings were 1.060 which would give me around 6% took another reading today and my readings are all down, my percentage is down to 2% what on earth has happened here then?

do this mean my alcohol percentage is around 4%

Yes. Your wine now contains 4% alcohol, and there is 2% more potential alcohol.

Remember the hydrometer measures sugars and translates it to POTENTIAL alcohol. The difference between starting sg and current sg is the REALIZED alcohol.
