I know this place focuses on MAKING wine, but since many of mine are still coming of age, I'm still buying. I found one last week that turned out to be unbelievably good for it's price (IMHO). My quest started because I wanted something to potentially top off my Red Mountain Trio with. I found a few blends from Red Mountain, but the lowest priced one was $25. I didn't want to go there for a top up wine. I settled on a Meritage from Hogue in Columbia Valley. At 12.99, I figured I'd take the chance. Last night, I stabilized and degassed the RMT and needed about a glass and a half more to top off the carboy. So I cracked open the Hogue Genesis 2007 Meritage and tried it. It was really, really good! Especially for something under $13.

Anyway, I just wanted to pass that along. It's not often that I try something under 25 or 30 dollars that is as good as this was. If you can get your hands on some, go for it.

Oops, that title should read "Really GOOD store bought wine", not "goos". :)

Have had a couple bottles of the Hogue Genesis series of wines. All pretty good QPR. Other excellent QPR wines from WA state are the 2 Vines series from Columbia Crest. All around $5.99 - $7.99 depending on where you pick them up. Great Whites and Reds at a killer price.
