Morning!!!

Well...it was stage 3 day today...stabilizing, clearing and degassing...seems to have worked well!!

And I had to top off...does this look like a good spot?? Was a little over a litre to get it to there!!

You are at a good spot. If you have anymore wine you can put in there, I personally would take it half way up the neck.

Just curious...should I be degassing it again soon??

The reason I am asking is that I thought I read that somewhere...for the first few days at least!! That and I bought a drill adapter but the stupid thing is, the bung got hot and started to shread!! I took it off...now no stopper...hence the little bit more room!!

Yea or nay??

Dave by all means if you need to hit it again with the drill do not add any more until you are done degassing. Otherwise you'll have a real mess. If you're all done degassing and just letting it age fill it as full as you want leaving a minimum 1/2" air space.

Some of those gummy rubber bungs will leave an unpleasant taste in the wine if they come in contact with it for extended periods of time.

If you've already degassed adequately, there's no need to degas anymore. If you plan to bulk age, there is a natural degassing that takes place over time. Good Luck.

I'm not going to bulk age these first two kits...the next one's I probably will...

K...not sure if I did degass enough...I am assuming so...did it on and off for about 45 minutes and the last round was pretty good...just wondering if I should do it one more time later today or tomorrow??

I probably would not myself. If you're curious to see if C02 if left, go ahead and give it a try so you know next time. Some kits do take a lot more degassing then others.
