squall or tornada?

Not really sure what hit us the other night but it was real scary. Sitting at home when all of a sudden rain pounded harder than I ever saw. Wind was blowing the trees so they were bent in half.At one moment the house shook and we were sure a tree came down on us but we were lucky.This lasted about 20 minutes or so. Power went out. In the morning about 1 kilometer away from us, this was the aftermath

Straight line winds.

I went through that exact same thing earlier this year. One minute I was sitting in my van wiring up a radio and the next trees were blowing down around me and I couldn't open the door to even get into the house. A minute later it was done.

Weather is scary stuff...

No not our house.It touched just down the hill from us. We didn't sustain any damage. It's incredible that we go unscathed and just a short way away devistation
