For a long time I wished I had standardized my labels for all my wines. I see others who have and I see that most commercial wineries do this.

NW posted a site on one of her post and the logo intrigued me. It is simple yet speaks for itself.

So here's the label that I have come up with. I think it will work for most Reds and Whites, even some fresh fruits.

Relying on someone out there to dress it up for me. Here's what I need:

1) A name

2) a space for the type of wine

3) On the right side, a description of the contents

4) where does the ABV and bottle size go?

5) year of Fruit and a separate month and year for bottling

6) coloring of all the above.

Maybe I'll turn this into a contest. What would be a good prize for the winner? A couple bottles of wine? Winners choice?

I am not that creative and am using a Van Gogh green vineyard painting for my whites and red vineyard painting for my reds. I use Wordart to add the descriptions, etc., as set forth in items 1-6, though I only put the year the wine is fermented. There is a good tutorial for the use of Word to make labels on winepress.us under labels. Edited by: dfwwino

I also love that picture of the vine and root....That company is called Root:1...they say on the label all their winesare grown on Own-Root vines...not grafted....they are really proud of that.

It is indeed an awesome photo...theirs is just painted on the bottle.

Looks Great Wade! But I think Carolina Cellars is take......... By a commercial entity locally. How about:

Cedar Wood Cellars (we have cedar siding on the house and Pine trees in the front yard)

Yellow Dog (We have a Yellow Lab and a Golden Retriever.... Yellow enough)

Or........... Don't use a name...... I haven't used one on the last few......... dozen batches that I have done. I have instead used the space for a description of the wine, like Ramona does, I like that................ Of course..... I'm referring to those times I actually make labels and not buy them........... sigh

Or use something from the symbolism of the root, deep root, Old Vine....... something like that.

Love the new "just Vine" look NW. That came out looking great.
