Hi All:

I am in the process of sanitizing my equipment and began a batch of Star San. I notice quite a bit of Foam. Is this OK or should I rinse the carboys, equipment etc after using star san? How long can I store a mixture of star san and water before it has to be thrown out?

THanks,
Sal

Star San

My local wine shop reccomends it... they repeated 10 times, LOL, "Don't fear the foam"!! the foaming is normal, it will not affect anything..it is sold as a brewery sanitizer.. rinsing the foam out will negate the sterilization..

It so far has done me a good job... and they told me they keep a five gallon bucket made up it will keep indefinatly..

I agree. The foam is not a problem but a good thing. Just let everything air dry after using the Star San.

I use Star San for beer making and K-Meta for Wine Making
