Store wine in large bins

Would it be okay to store wine bottles on their side in large pastic bins? I would get ones that are not see through so no light is hitting them. I have just started my first 2 batches of wine a month ago and will be bottling soon but do not have wine racks large enough to hold them all. I will eventually get some large wine racks but was planning to just buy a couple large plastic bins with lids for now. I live in an apartment so the wine will be at room temperature while aging around 70degrees. thanks for the help

Yes, and it would be good to help protect them from light. Regardless of the specific temperature if you can control the temperature fluctuations it will help.

This is how I do it, in $10 Sterilite and Rubbermaid tubs.
