I came home tonight after a 13.3 hour day of crushing and pressing wine to find two big boxes from George in my garage. A cranapple chardonnay (my christmas wine for gifts) and four special edition port wines.

Pics or it never happened!

You and those OC kits!!!! please let me know what you think of that Coffee port Dan although we must have different tastes when it comes to these kits as I couldnt stand the OCP.

Love the OCP! It's very popular here and I hope the coffee port is just as good. Still waiting for my order, but my carboys are busy for another month or so.

BWAAHAAAHAAA and just remember in a bigger local competition with six judges it was only 1/2 point away from best of show which ended up being my Country Apple. The the Bast*@ds proceeded to tell me I can no longer compete since I now work for a major winery.

Yeap! :( But thats ok. I've entered plenty over the last two years and was very happy with the results. More important then the ribbons were the new friends I met.

And what "major" winery you work at?

I hope you are kidding, Tom. Haven't you followed his posts on his new job? Dan got his dream job, but now he is caught in the middle of the harvest nightmare!

Thanks. Right now it's all pressing, crushing, punching and testing 11-13 hours a day, six days a week. This will last till mid November. If the grapes aren't being brought in by tractor/trailer flatbed, the farmers are delivering them on their tractors right after they've been picked. I guess that's the advantage of a winery in the heart of a wine country.

Hey, That's not fair Dan. You get a day off? What's up with that? I gotta talk to my boss and get one of them for me too! LOL
