I'd like to, but the forecast is for clouds and rain. Possibility of sleet and freezing rain overnight. Snow Day!!!!

Forecast at my place:

Drunken with blurred vision........ in the hot tub..........

So we may get to see both of them.......

NW are you going to lay out under the stars tonight to watch the eclipse in it's entirety? It will only last a few hours from start to finish. What, -30F is too cold to lay out under the stars?

I might run out and catch glimpses of it...or...watching through a window sounds the best option....I like Jobe's approach best...

My new camera is in transit to a Connecticut camera repair shop....

....But I have found my best moon photos to have come out of the Bino-Cam [Binocular/Camera] but with that one you best not be shivering.

Low for tonight...a balmy -17*F...

I'm hoping to get some shots with my ancient Kodak DX3900. I may need to put on some warmer clothing than a skirt and sweater. It was good at work but I don't think it will do out there tonight!

Clear skies and -8 *Fhere that's nice enough to watch the eclipse and make snow angels .

A beautiful winter sunset...a nice night for the eclipse of the moon...

-19.8*F now...Luckily I was able to viewthe total eclipsefrom inside the sun porch, warm and cozy, with a glass [or two] of Merry Berry - Summer Blend 2005....
Now, nearing the end, the moon is hidden by a tree...I went outside for the last 2 shots....Burrr!!!!! So these will be all the photos I am going to take...

And...so it goes.Edited by: Northern Winos

Fantastic shots! I really like the contrast in them. Whenever we experience a lunar eclipse here, the moon does go a little dark, but mostly, it turns red. You've captured the true essence of the eclipse!

The moon was brown to the eye, but the Binocular Camera didn't get that color, just black and white.
I had one brown colored shot with my old camera...but it wasn't very good.

The skies were absolutely crystal clear here last evening. The moon shined a reddish orange color here. The fuller it got it turned from yellowish to the final reddish orange color. I wish I had a decent camera but didn't even try with mine.

It was beautiful and clear here in N. Wisconsin also but it was higher above the horizon than NW's pic shows. I tried to take a photo but it just wouldn't show. Of course I tried to take it from inside the house where we had a beautiful view thru the front windows!

I took the dog out at 21:30 and it was a dark red color. At 42 degrees lattitude the moon was higher above the horizon than in Northern Minnesota. Tomy

I got to watch 4 inches of lake effect snow falling! It's the prettiest white you ever did see! Blinding in fact!
