[FYI... Did try "Search" on WMT before posting this thread.]

What trash bag do you use as liner, if any, with your fermentation bucket?

A "Bing" search lead me to investigate Turkey Bags and though my wife had some they were not big enough for my primary bucket. Bing also lead me to an article where a fellow used these particular trash liners but I was wanting something that I could just pick up locally and not have to order online.

Thanx...

I have never seen or heard of anyone using a liner in the primary bucket. Not sure why you would ever need one. They rinse and clean up nicely with water and if you add a little oxyclean you and even get rid of any of those stubborn red wine stains.

I use liners in my primary fermenters. They are three different sizes of Brute Garbage cans. When I'm not fermenting they are used for other reasons and always have a liner in them. When the juice is ready to go in them the liners come out.

LOL So you don't actually ferment wine in the liner but it allows you to use the trashcan as a trashcan when its not fermenting something.

I have! Not a question of "need" but people do do it for even easier cleanup and avoiding scratches to the bucket. Some even use a large nylon bag as a liner in order to lift out the gross lees.

Thinking outside the box it might be a convenient way to gather the gross lees to start something like a Skeeter Pee... Rack, tie a knot in the bag, cut off the long end and now you have your starter ready to go in a plastic bag?
