I'm not much for religion, but Christmas has always been a time for reflection on loved ones from afar and who have gone and joyous memories of travels and life's events. Every year our tradition is to lovingly place our special ornaments on the tree and remember those we've lost and feel closer to family far away. Here are a few of our special ornaments.
Rose ornaments my wife and I bought together after we got engaged in 1987.
Wedding bells made by my wife's aunt that adorned our wedding reception tables.
Our son's first and second christmas.
Gifts from a dear friend in 1986.
This elf used to adorn my wife's Grandma's tree every year. Now it inhabits ours.
These antique doves which sit atop the christmas lights and glow belonged to a very good friend of ours who took her life 25 years ago. I know her tortured soul is at peace and her doves remain lit on our tree every year.
And a few of our travels . . .
