I had a friend join us for new year's eve. She brought a number of bottles she just received. I was impressed. The wines were great.

She then told me about this web site. Seems like a good bargain. Free shipping, 4 wines, video, recipe suggestions, etc. All for un $70. Really thinking of giving them a try.

Has anyone tried this???

You trying to get me shot. The last time I went to a "winery" and bought a couple bottles of wine my wife about had an melt down. Ask me why I was buying wine when I was asking it and it was better than any store bought. Figured then I needed to be good and not buy any more wine. She don't say a word about all the equipment I get or all the supplies I get to make it, just don't buy any wine. Lol

I think I'm with Doc on this one... I've got a budget to 'make wine' or 'buy wine,' probably not both.

I went to the site - looks like they're affiliated somehow with WTSO, too.

I shoud consider myself lucky, my wife doesn't care if I buy wine, equipment, juice, grapes or supplies. Perhaps it's because if I keep myself busy I'll stay out of her hair.

Nice article, thanks for sharing. Never really thought about cellar palate much, but, for example, when I taste my one vintage of Dornfelder wine, the strong dark fruit characteristics overwhelm me upon drinking the first glass. Later in the evening I don't really notice it as much, maybe that is why I normally finish the bottle!

About a month ago I was at a member appreciation event at a winery I belong to and this topic came up. The Owner and Winemaker both heard the conversation and we all must have talked about it for an hour.
