Good afternoon to everyone,

This last weekend my wife and I visited one of our local orchards. They had some wonderful looking peaches on sale if you bought them by the lug. Well after eating some fresh and making a pie I was given the green light on the rest. So I'm thinking my next batch will probably be Welch's White Grape and fresh peach.

Here's some pics

Admiral, I may go back and see if they still have some of those peaches left and then I'll make a big batch. The flavor of those peaches is the best I have tasted in quite awhile

Would you share your recipe for the pie?

From Mrs. Fivebk (Barb).....Sure I will share my peach pie recipe. Sorry I did not respond right away. We had to put Bob's mother in the hospital on Saturday so we have been running back and forth to the hospital etc.

Here's my recipe:
Crust:

2 Cups of Flour
1 tsp of salt
1 cup shortening (I use crisco)
blend together until it forms pea size balls, slowly add ice water and mix with fork until dough come together enough you can roll out.

Filling

4 cups of sliced fresh peach
2/3 cups sugar
3 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons tapioca
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup peach schnapps (This is my secret)

Mix well, put into pastry-lined pie plate (8 inch) dot with 2 tablespoons of butter, place top crust on and seal. Dap top crust with milk then sprinkle with sugar, cut vent slits. Bake @ 425 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes
