Come on now.Admit it. You missed me didn't you

The "rain" started for me a little over 3 weeks ago with the unexpected demise of the clothes dryer. We decided to go ahead and replace the washer too as they were both the same age and a friend was really needin a washer anyway. Well, 4 days later, Kat asked me to look at he dishwasher as it was not getting any water in it but sounded like everything was running fine, Sure enough, there was no water coming in. So I pulled the front cover off to see if I could deterrmine the problem and discovered I had a big problem. The drain hose was almost in two and had been leaking water out onto the floor for some time so I ended up not only having to replace the dishwasher but the flooring too

So now we have a new washer, dryer, diswasher and floor. I am nowsitting in my living room last Saturday night labeling some wine I had bottled that day, watching the Eagles in concert on my big screen TV when all of a sudden it sounded like a stick of dynamite went off in my living room as the whole world outside my living room window exploded from a huge lightning bolt. I thought my TV had exploded. The lightning did run in on my phone line and the first DSL filter on my main phoone jack in the living room was blown completely apart. Tally of lighnning strike was my Bose speaker system ( that was what exploded that I thought was my tv I guess the concussion from the lightning strike actually amplified them, causing them to blow because they were plugged in to the same surge protector as my TV, DVD player and VCR and they are all still fine.), TV in our bedroom, tv in Cindys bedroom, My wireless DSL modem, color printer, kats printer, her hot tub out under the carport and a couple of surge protectors. I have had one heck of a time getting back online too ( getting my Linksys USB Wireless adapters to associate with the 2Wire Wireless Home portal) but glad to be back and have lots of catching up to do.

Sounds like life around my house. Welcome back though.

Miss Ya??????????

A bunch of us were about to jump in our cars and converge in southern Arkansas!

Sounds like a streak of terribly bad luck and timing, but you never said anything about the real important thing.........................

HOWS THE WINE???

Wondered about you Waldo...Glad it was only 'things' that had problems and not you nor your loved ones...Welcome home.

Been there myself Waldo, lost a few items a few years ago when Lightning hit a tree in our front yard, the good thing is its just stuff, and not someone! Glad to have you back, yeah, we miss you when your gone.

I was wondering about you down there Waldo since I hadn't heard from you any lately- thought you must be out on the town fishing and such. Having to replace all those things is bad enough, but the lightning really can be nasty. Too bad you didn't wait for the lightning to hit, then you could have said the lightning blew them up too! After the lightning his a few more times, you will cringe like I do every time the lightning starts up. I'm just glad you didn't get a good jolt from it like I have a few times now.

Great to have you back!

Welcome back and sorry to hear about all the bad luck. Hopefully insurance covered the cost of the stuff destroyed by the lightning.

Thanks for doing your part in kick starting the local economy with all the purchases!

Man Waldo, sounds like the guy at the appliance center just sent his kids to college. Tell me the Bose speakers did not blow up, not the Bose! Glad to have you back buddy!

Glad to see you back, Bud!

BUT, your TV experience brought back memories of our 7 years in Kentucky when we replaced three TV's and two "surge" protectors (they didn't protect THAT MUCH surge!) in those 7 years, all due to lightning!

Here in Montana we've got the same ol' TV's for the last 8-10 years and I haven't had a "good excuse" to get a new one yet!

Thanks all. and damned glad to be back amongst friends. Oh tes, the wine I was labeling.....Going to keep it a secret, maybe send out a few bottles around the end of Summer and get some feedback on it. A special blend i concocted.

I thought I was having a bad day when my label program crashed and I lost all of my labels. Man that was nuthing compared to your problems. Am so glad you are all right and back with us. We realy do miss you when you are not posting.

Sorry about all your expenditures! Yeesh! I'm glad you are all safe and sound. Welcome back!

I feel for you Waldo. This past fall, lightning got my computer & central air system. The surge protector on the computer was fine, though - go figure?

Waldo: glad you & your familly are ok. I too was beginning to wonder if everything was ok in Waldo land. My work took me to Springdale this weekend &I thought about trying to look you up just to check on you.
You have had enough bad luck to last the next 10 years or so.
Do you remember what song was playing when the lightning hit? I hear those Boss systems are as true to life as possible. Glad it wasen't the 1812 overature. Yor might of needed a new house.

bj, the lightning probably came in to either the phone line to modem or cable to cable modem and then network card. They are all susceptible. They now make surge protectors that cover all your bases- sort of anyways. They plug your cable and phome sources through them and then go to your computer. They help, but I can show you burn marks on my desk where they still don't stop direct strikes.
