Hi Everyone,

There's a new LHBS open in my town, and they have some RJS kits at great prices right now, so I'm going to scoop one up :)

I've narrowed it to the following choices:
- EP Spanish Cab Sauv (on sale for $109)
- Cru Select Cab Sauv (on sale for $80)
- Cru Select Pinot Noir ($80)

Recommendations?

Is there a big difference in quality between the cru select and EP kits? I'm guessing it's a similar comparison between the WE selection kits and Eclipse kits. Previously, I've only done WE kits, but at these prices, I have to try the RJS kits!

Actually, I moved to Winnipeg. The place is called grain to glass. Check out their website. www.graintoglass.ca.
The guys there are awesome. They have only been open for 7 months, but have the best service I've ever seen. I just picked up my EP Cab Sauv. Pretty sweet deal. The production date was Jan 1st 2015, but I'm guessing it should still be good

Do you guys think it's an issue if the production date is Jan 15 2015? I'm not sure how long the shelf life is.

As much as I like the price of the EP, i would get the winery series for a few bucks more or see if they will give you a bit of a break. Even at 124, its still better than the 140 around here. EP kits take longer to come around and have a black fleck type wine diamond dropping issure. That said, if you can wait 18 to 24 months, the reds are very nice. As for the WINERY SERIES, I have never had a kit, red or white, that I didn't like.

Cru select for that price are not to shabby either. Drinkable sooner than the others.

cheers

Also at that price, I would buy the EP whites in a heartbeat. Fantastic wines.

cheers
