Super Tuscan. Rosso Grande Excellente is too new (less than 2 years, so I haven't tasted it) and the Amarone was just released this December, making it VERY new.

The Super Tuscan is amazing, and is like many commercial Super Tuscan wines. I would buy a couple of commercial examples if you are not familiar with Super Tuscans and see if you like them.

Personally I would make the Washington Merlot, but that's the way my tastes run.

Which way do your tastes run?

I(we) like BIG, Peppery reds.

I was able to score 2 Winery Series Cab Sauv kits at my lhbs for only $50/each(and only 5 months old). So, I was really leaning towards a big Italian red.

I don't have a Cellar Craft dealer nearby otherwise I would probably go with a Showcase Amarone.

If you like the peppery reds the the Syrah is more what you want. I have almost all of the Winery series and I think the Super Tuscan is better then the Rosso, but everyone of them is awesome IMO>.

If you want peppery the Old Vine zin is amazingly spicy! But, if you want Italian, certainly go with the Super Tuscan. Out of everything in the winery series (amarone excepted because I have not tasted it), every last one of them is outstanding. My least favorite of the bunch is the Valpolicella because I think the Cru Select Valpolicella Ripassa is much much better.

I have made both theSuper Tuscan and the Rosso Grande. I would say I liked the Super Tuscan a little more. No clue why but it just hit me as better.
