I kinda thought so too...We have a lot of accidents here when it rains...But nothing compared to accidents in snow and ice...

I travel about 25 miles of busy interstate each way going to and from work. WE don't get the long periods of frigid cold a lot of folks on here get but we do get nearly as much snow as anyone. What I can tell you is I see more SUV's then anything else off the road. These people think they are invincible but when it comes to ice under the snow or black ice, everyone is screwed.

I hear ya, Dan. It seems like people think if you got it in 4 wheel drive you become invincible.

Yup! I have four wheel drive and I know that black ice is underneath the snow - ppl can pass me all they want! Usually pass them in the ditch later!

Yes even being a professional snow plow driver- it is always scary - not knowing if you are able to stop or not

I always put 200-300 lbs of sand bags in the bed of my truck during the winter, it keeps me grounded a little bit, but I know that 4 wheel drive doesn't mean 4 wheel stop.

Yup they do. When you try to drive over the Coquihalla highway here in the winter.

I guess I over did it than putting (12) 60 pound bags of sand in my truck. I know it's over kill but it's only two wheel drive and a full size truck. So far it's been good for me.
