I have a chance to purchase a used " black beauty filter". Wondering if anyone knows anything about this type of filter and if its a good mschine?

I cannot find that filter anywhere. How much is it. Many folks here just use a house filter set up that you can get from a hardware store. all in one sells the setup I think.

Its selling for 30.00. Looks in good shape. I would like to also pump
My wine as I am getting too old to lift the carboys. It looks just like a eurofilter using 22 cm filters.

Hi

I found a link to a Black Beauty prefilter set up that is used in aquariums. It's not clear if it has carbon in it or if carbon is only in the later filter. Carbon would not be good.

Honestly look at the All in One. If you are out of the country Steve is working right now to figure out a method of most economical shipping to EU. The filter set up used by the pump ships to EU already according to the interested buyer. This thread fills up fast so the info I'm talking about is towards the bottom of pg 70.

I looked at that prefilter and that is a course filter - typically used to protect your pump. It is not designed to actually clarify - unless there are different cartridges that I am not aware about.

Those cartridges are typically 3-4 inches in length and 1 1/2'' round and is a mesh screen.

Thanks for the info. I don't want to spend alot of money on a filter. I just filter now and then when I have a problem clearing my wine and I rent from the wine store. Thanjs again

If you look on my website under accessories it gives all the part # for the complete filtration

Cost is approximately 30 dollars and includes 2 filters at a cost of approximately 3 dollars each

Don't you need a vacuum pump? I never used a wine filter before but saw some with a pump.

A vacuum pump does work best
But you could use a pressurized pump if you so desire
