Wife got me some Riedel Pinot Noir glasses for my birthday. I read in Billionaire's Vinegar that Riedel toured US showing the differences between his and standard glasses and won a lot of praise.

Anyone follow the thought of different varietals, deserve certain style glasses?

I've heard a lot about it (read 'interested in learning more'), but i have a standard glass i use typically..

I'm a big fan of Riedel's Pinot Noir tumblers. We have two pairs for the wife and I to use so we can both compare two wines using the same type of glass. She noticed a huge positive difference in the nose and bouquet of the reds we made and drank when we started using those glasses. They can make a cheap red wine kit taste smell far better than in basic wine glasses - they don't affect the taste, though, in our opinion. We drink all of our reds out of those glasses, and use 'large-bowl' style glasses when we have guests at our home.
We don't drink much white wine so we don't spend time/effort finding glasses that 'fit' those better.
