Wine in corner keg.

I have recently bought a second hand 19lt. corny keg for my beer brewing. It was used by a local wine maker who died about 2 years ago. His wife told me it was full of a red wine kit he was brewing when he died. I don’t know what stage it was as. I don’t know if he was conditioning in keg or planned to dispense from it. I paid a reasonable price for the keg and told the seller I would give her a few bottles if anything drinkable comes from the wine. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. How to progress?

Unless I'm missing something here, I would sample the wine.

Think I would put a sample in a clear glass. If it looks ok and smells good, time to give it a taste. Arne.

It would be nice if you could transfer the wine into a plastic transport jug/ pail before disturbing the lees.

Thanks for all the advice. Keg now home and I will leave it for a week to settle following transport. Will look at it at the weekend and report the findings.
