    WineXpert WE 10L Kit initial S.G. 1.045 ... Whaaat ?!

Geez. What a hostile response. That was completely unnecessary. I imagine if you contact the manufacturer (not the retailer) and provide them with the specific info from your kit, they'll probably tell you if they ran into any issues in that particular run. If it is that far off, they...

How to sweeten and cut the alcohol content?

Beer, soda, cider, etc. in capped bottles is MUCH more susceptible to bottle bombs. Most have a small, but healthy, colony of yeast in the bottle in order to carb it. They also have residual sugar that is not able to be converted by the normal yeast, but is available to converted by bacteria...

    Clearing Previously Bottled Wine

Did you verify fermentation was complete and that you added sorbate/Kmeta if you back sweetened? It almost sounds like it had a little bit of fermentation start back up again.

Chitosan Dosage for White Grape Wine

Yeah. I imagine they have a stack of those emails in their inbox. From their perspective, I doubt there is much they could do about the bottles that are out in the wild, but a follow up email would be a step in acknowledging the mistake. Doesn't take much on their end, and a little bit of...

Chitosan Dosage for White Grape Wine

Go math! I can't imagine you're the first person to identify the problem, but it probably wouldn't hurt to let them know. I'm surprised it made it out the door like that, especially since underdosing using the metric values can make it appear that the product isn't effective.

How to sweeten and cut the alcohol content?

Even a bottle of wine that was never degassed would not cause a bottle bomb from the residual gas. It might push the cork out, but that's about it. It would require fermentation starting up again while in the bottle to cause enough pressure to cause it to explode, but even then I imagine it...

Using equipment from infected beer batch?

Getting rid of all plasticware that touched the infected batch is the general advice given, because when people have repeat infections it is generally traced back to some plastic part. I've read about brewers who are able to bleach bomb their gear and put it back into use, but much more often...

    Blueberry Again !

Thanks! I wish I had a reliable place for wild berries. We've found them when we've gone camping before, but usually they are spread out quite a bit and it is tricky to time it so that the berries are mostly ripe. My son and I picked a couple pounds of red raspberries last weekend, but...

    WineXpert Limited Edition Dessert Wines

As has been the case recently with other limited edition releases, I got email notification of pre-orders available for this year's dessert wines before they show up on the Winexpert site. They have named the series Apres and the lineup includes Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Salted Caramel...

    Exotic barrel vrs Vadai barrel

The fact that the country of origin isn't listed would make me hesitant. If it came from a respected source, I have a feeling they would mention it.

    Blueberry Again !

I LOVE black raspberries, but have a hard time getting my hands on enough to make a large batch. Can you share your recipe in case I can find some at a reasonable price soon?

    Weber Performer grill....

I find that the Costco charcoal lasts longer than the standard stuff from Lowes/HD/etc. When I use my charcoal chimney, the standard stuff that is on the bottom of the chimney is mostly used up by the time the stuff on top gets going. With the Costco stuff, If I'm doing something quick, I can...

RJ Spagnols Favorite RJS Holiday Dessert Wine

It's probably why you posed the question, but it looks like the seasonal kits for this year are available for pre-order at different vendors. Might have to snag a caramel one to do after the red velvet.

    Composite Decking

Man, I'd pay to have someone do all my jobs if labor was that cheap. That's like yard maintenance prices out here! The material costs seem reasonable. I just never imagined labor would be that cheap! Consider yourself very lucky!! Did they put up some sort of "ceiling" too? I don't see...

    Composite Decking

Holy smokes! That includes labor Stressbaby?!? :< My brain is having trouble processing that. Labor must be cheap where you are. Even the tear down and haul away out here would have cost several thousand dollars probably. What kind of composite did you use? Did it fall off the back of a...

    Composite Decking

Ours is almost exactly the same square footage. Doing it ourselves clocked in at around $11K, which included all the framing and railings as well. I think the decking itself was around $7K. I'd check around on the price of those boards or consider a mid grade product if TimberTech offers...

    Composite Decking

We used composite for the deck I built a couple years ago and would recommend it to anyone over wood, even though it gets pretty hot in the summer sun. We have big umbrellas that cover the seating areas, so that issue is mitigated fairly well. Our old house had a wooden deck and we wouldn't...

Labelpeelers now has the Pink Lemonade kits on clearance. Must have found some in the back of the warehouse.

    Buried the needle

If that blueberry concentrate is anything like the cranberry version we had, a little bit goes a LONG way. I think you could use simple syrup for the sweetening and then add the concentrate to taste. Don't expect to get much sweetness from the concentrate.
