WineXpert Started A Wine Expert Selection Spanish Rose

WineXpert lists this as a "dry" wine. How can it be dry when it comes with an F-Pack?

    Blackberries

The blackberries are coming on here now too! :h I went out yesterday and picked 4 pounds but then I got mugged and the blackberries ended up in a PIE! :< I guess I'll have to sneak them into the freezer before they are seen next time. ::

    Where to buy cheap carboys

Actually there are 3.7854118 litres in a U.S. gallon ;) Almost enough to call it 4 litres.

    Other Paklab 23L must kit

These are the sterile must kits that come in a plastic bucket with 23 litres of must. I would think that they have a lot more body than some of the smaller kits. http://www.paklabproducts.com/paklabproducts/en/ViewProduct.aspx?oref=11

    Other Paklab 23L must kit

Anyone have any comments on these ones? I saw them in Costco the other day and am considering trying one. I haven't tried a must kit yet.

Could it be that you have not adjusted the readings for temperature?

A new kit wine... Meant to be funny!

That should give the police something to celebrate at this year's Christmas party! :h

    10,000

If 10,000 members made 10 batches of wine, and each batch was 6 gallons.... well how many gallons does it take to float a battleship?:d Congrats!

I'm curious as to how this one turned out. My local WE retailer called to say they had one of these kits for me. :h They seem to be trying hard to keep my cellar full! Add this to Chocolate Raspberry Port they ordered me and this will make my third kit from them this month. :d

    WineXpert Argentine Malbec

You're probably right Tom, it will be young at Christmas. I'm looking forward to this one already. I decided to try this one after drinking a bottle of Malbec-Sauvignon, which I really enjoyed. I might even try to get another batch going to try blending some.

    WineXpert Argentine Malbec

I started this Selection International kit last night and it's boiling away this morning. I'm hoping that it will be good to drink by Christmas (five months away). Does anyone have any experience with this kit? Being a 15 litre kit it should be pretty good but I don't know if it will be good...

    Blackberry / Grape Concentrate Help

That shouldn't have any effect. The ones I have are called Sun Maid Natural California Raisins and the sole ingredient listed is California Raisins.

    Blackberry / Grape Concentrate Help

That sounds a lot like what I hope to make, as soon as the blackberries start to ripen here. (Which should be in the next couple of weeks.) Except I'll probably use more blackberries and try to get the sg to about 1.095 to start. I'll also be using grape juice but not the frozen one...

Pitfalls of being careless with left over wines

The best thing about using a Vacu Vin is that when you take off the cap and the little cup thing inside your air lock, you can use the Vacu Vin to degass your wine in the carboy. :D

    splash racking to degas?

Smurfe, Which kits are you making? The instructions that I read on Mosti's site doesn't mention splash racking at all. Not even on the first rack.

    My Racking Rod

On the other hand, you could use it for an excuse to get yourself an auto siphon. (Well worth the money IMHO) :h

    splash racking to degas?

You are right at that stage splash racking is not recommended. Some folks will however splash rack once more if they do it in a vacuum. At the bottling stage the less oxygen the better.
