    What R you doing today?

Off work today, going to walk my daughter to school then come home and wrap presents. I have to go out and get my son and wife their gifts after wrapping is complete. Have to get that done while the little one is not around. If time permits I may try to do the 2nd racking of the PA juices in...

    Bigger batch containers

The owner of our local beer distributer told me that the cost for the Keg is $30.00 in PA. I believe he said that is state regulated as they are cheaper in Tennessee he said. Scrap yards are not supposed to be able to take the barrels as scrap either..

    GPS navigation systems/programs

I wish GM didn't rely on OnStar for their Navigation Systems. I can't stand OnStar and didn't renew the service. It would be nice if you could get the nav from your phone to appear on the screen in the vehicle. Much rather have a stand alone nav than OnStar. I generally just use my phone but...

    Flextank

I'm guessing you like the flex tank? I was considering one of these as well but never really looked into it much since I don't do a lot of a single type of wine.

    Elderberry wine

The closer it gets to Christmas, I'm getting more and more anxious to get this started. I figure the steaming process will be done over the course of 2 days since each 10 lbs of berries take about 45-60 minutes to finish. Each 10 lbs yields about 1 gallon of juice and there is plenty of juice...

    Ordering corks from Lafitte today

I still haven't splurged for the customized cork yet, but $.17 each is a damn good price and their service is excellent.

    Hot pepper wines

Last Jalapeno Pepper wine I made I used Niagra as a base and fermented 10 peppers per gallon. This year I have the Niagra fermenting now and will add peppers later and just let them infuse into the Niagra. I did have a Mango-Habenero Mead a few months ago that was quite nice..

    Party?

After checking with my daughter's very busy schedule, the 19th does not seem to allow me much free time. Karate in the AM, Party in the afternoon, and Movie night at Karate in the evening...

    What R you doing today?

Had the day off work today so I blended 32 gallons of Noble Muscadine, 25 gallons of Carlos and 28 gallons of Red Muscadine. They were from 2 different pickings so I racked into a brute to blend batch 1 with batch 2 of each then back to carboys. Surprising how much acid has dropped out so far...

    Post a photo, any photo

The angel is almost 25 years and is probably the only item that will remain a constant as she is from my first tree in our home before my first wife passed(1993). All the children use to take turns placing our angel on the tree. Now our 8 y/o carries on the tradition for her older siblings..

    What R you doing today?

Spent the day cleaning the house so we could set up the Christmas Tree and host dinner for the kids. We do a grab bag for Christmas and today was the grab bag pick day. Made a balsamic chicken recipe. Definately a do over meal, it was well received.

    Elderberry wine

Steaming the elderberries eliminates the green goo. I will take a the skins and run a seconds batch as well except rather then using white grape concentrate I use the same red grape concentrate. Turns out pretty well..with strong elderberry flavors due to the amount of skins..
