    Clean a concrete floor?

I'm considering building a shop in the next year or so and one of the things I was thinking about was a stained concrete floor, which can be done on old concrete as well. Ones I've seen have looked pretty sharp and if you pick colors that would compliment a nice cabernet, any spills would just...

    Pruning Minneapolis Area

Has anyone started pruning in this region yet? My vines are only a year old and I plan on pruning back to develop two trunks. I know we still have two months of frost potential and it is supposed to cool off here the end of the week. Soft maples are starting to bud around here and you can...

    Meats, Cheeses, and Wine

I have been reading up on dry cured meats and sausages and have already ventured into making a few cheeses. Does anyone else partake in these hobbies? Would the mold and spores from curing these products have any affect on the wine? I was thinking of building a garage with a room dedicated...

    Psa

No kidding! I can't remember what my pineapple fermented like but I added coconut extract to it and it actually turned out to be a pretty tasty wine. I'm still waiting for the 40 bottles of green tomato wine to turn the corner into something good, been going on 2.5 years

    Need ideas - short ribs

We don't have beef ribs often so I found it amusing to see Mike's delicious looking ribs after we made ribs last night. Below is the recipe we used from Tom Colicchio's recipes. Love the way they come out however I noticed that I must get a different cut off of the ribs than what Mike has...

    Reviews on Vesta

Has anyone taken any of the courses through Vesta? I am interested if the online classes were worth it or if you did not get much out of them. Thanks!

    Chitosan and Fish Allergies

A lot of kits contain Chitosan to aide in clearing and I was wondering if anyone knows if this would affect people with a fish allergy? I don't think I have used it on any of my wines but I would hate to forget and give a bottle of wine to someone that may be affected by it.

    Vinmetrica SC-50

How are you plugging the SC 50 into the SC300? I got in touch with Vinmetrica when I got mine as it wouldn't work at all when I plugged the 50 into the 300 with the RCA connection. When I used the single prong adapter it came with and plugged it into that connection, then it worked fine. Thanks

    Winemaker Mag Articles

Not sure if anyone from the magazine frequents this site but I wanted to say the article on the DIY sprayer in last months issue was great! I love the DIY articles and would love to see even more. That is definitely a project I added to my to do list, just need to see if an old 1948 Ford 8N...

    Still Here

What did you list the house as? If you listed and the buyer expects a 3 bedroom, as was the case when you purchased, I wouldn't think it would be a problem having a 3 bedroom septic. Basically, a 3 bedroom house with a wine room. If you listed as a 4 bedroom, then you might.

Has anyone tried doing the Amarone approach with other grapes like a Pinot, Cabernet, or Hybrids?
