I got some bronze and silver's myself. My wife got a double gold and Best Of Show For Kit Wines for her Spagnols LE Tango. So happy for her. I thought it was hard living with her before!!

No medals for my Toasted Caramel Port, those judges have no taste! I got 2 bronze medals for my 2011 Petit Verdot and 2011 Cranberry Malbec and 2 silver medals for my 2011 Cranapple Chardonnay and my 2010 Cabernet Suavignon.

How was the conference? I always wanted to go but in my business it's always at the wrong time of year! What medals did you win? I'm patiently waiting for the results!

I added yeast energizer. The agave didn't list any preservatives on the label. Thanks for your suggestion. Dave

It's been 3 days and still no action. I'm going to start stirring the hell out of it when I get home today. I never had this happen before. Wondering if I should pitch another yeast but starting it ahead this time. I just sprinkled the yeast on top when I started this batch (Like I always do)...

I'm trying my shot at a honey mead (my 2nd one) and after pitching the yeast there has been no activity. I blended 8 lbs of honey with 2 lbs of blue agave and enough spring water for a 5 gallon carboy. The specific gravity was 1.116 and I put in 2 packets of D47 yeast. Temperature was 74 degrees...

I just bottled my Toasted Caramel Port. It's better than last years Coffee Port in my opinion. Kinda like drinking a candy bar!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Way to go guys, two more perfect scores!! If I remember right they ship the medals and judging notes out this week once they are all sorted. Time will tell ;-)
