    White Wine Filter?

    My first batch of white, second batch total. How necessary is filtering for white (Chardonnay)? I am not totally prepared to go out and spend $200 if it is not absolutely necessary. Thoughts?

    It is reading 1.010...directions said between 1.040 and 1.050...so I'm good to go?

    Hope this post finds all doing well... This is my 2nd batch of wine making and my 1st batch of white...so lots to learn! I am in the primary fermenter waiting for specific gravity to be between 1.040 and 1.050 and it doesn't appear to be moving that direction...it appears to be hovering...

    OK...I have bottled my first batch ever...questions about aging...what is the minimum time that I should allow before breaking into one of these bottles? What is the maximum amount of time that I should let the bottles sitbefore it goes bad? Thanks for all the help!

    Filtering?

    This is my first batch of wine...in the tutorials they mention filtering a couple of times...do I need to filter the wine? It is a Mosti Mondiale Merlot kit. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

    First Timer - Primary Fermentation - sg?

    No...I have not done the first racking...directions say between 1.040 and 1.050, but also 2-4 days...so I was getting a little nervous. Still in the primary fermentation plastic bucket. Thank you!
