    Petite pearl

2024 was a good year for us, too, after a very rainy late Spring/early Summer. I co-fermented a blend of 40% Verona, 30% Marquette, and 30% Petite Pearl which I plan to press tomorrow. After my secondary ferment I will rack again and then let it bulk age and clarify in glass carboys until next...

    Petite pearl

For the past couple of years I have used Avante yeast for my red wines, Marquette, Petite Pearl, and Verona. The results have been very good!

    Petite pearl

I'm very late to this thread, but for what it's worth I grow Marquette, Petite Pearl, and Verona in Michigan and have had very good results. I blend the three varieties and have been producing a rather nice red blend. Best wishes!

    Steuben and Buffalo Grapes

Hi Bob. I just came across your post, many years after the fact. 😟 I'm not often on the site... I have a mystery grape in my small vineyard (just south of Cadillac) that was tagged "Seedless Concord" when I bought it, but it's neither seedless or Concord, having no foxiness whatsoever. Could it...

    Adding Oak and such.

2022 is my second year of making wine, and I'm thinking I would like to try small oak barrel aging for my meager 3 gallons of dry red, a blend of Verona, Petite Pearl, and Marquette. I've read that smaller barrels really speed up the process because of the greater contact of the wine to the oak...

How long does mlf usually take, say at 65 to 70 degrees, or so?

    Hobbies other than winemaking?

I enjoy music, and have played guitar since I was 12, a very long time ago. I also really enjoy photography, reading, and writing. I used to backpack when I was younger, but that ship has sailed... 🙄

    HARDY GRAPE TRAITS

I have been wanting to trial ES 10-18-30 here in Michigan mini-vineyard, but I haven't been able to find a seller. Any suggestions?

    My first post...I think?

Hi everyone. We have a small homestead in northern Michigan with 12 vines about 5 years old. This is the first year we've harvested enough to make a small batch of red wine, about equal parts Marquette, Petite Pearl, and Verona. After the primary fermentation we pressed the wine from the must...

    Hello

I have one young Concord vine, and if I get some grapes from it this year I will give the Concord/Cranberry a try. That sounds really good!
