Sorry guys but all my friends are not techies at all!!!! Heck, 3/4 of them want that cheap phone with the huge numbers on it that only dials phone #s and thats it. If it werent for money issues Id probably have Droid RZR or IPhone 4GS but very limited on that. Is there a bog difference between 3g and 4g?

3G and 4G are simply data speeds. Yes, there is a big difference between the two. Problem is not too many places have 4G now, but its starting to take hold and grow. You need to look at the coverage map of the carrier you plan to stay with or go with to see if 4G is even on the horizon.

I have 4G phone but have 3G network here. We have a 3G advance network which I understand is better than 4G

I was told that 4G is faster than 3G, but is currently only available in some of the larger cities at present. For those who live in the country-it might be a while before 4G is available.
4G will work in 3G network
A 4g phone is backward compaatible & will work on a 3G network - just like a 3G works on EDGE, GMS, and other older networks - as long as you are in an area covered by your network, (ATT, Verizon, etc) it will talk. 4G and 3G are data speed/compression protocols - 4G represents higher data transmission rates.
