I went to a Chinese Restraunt and they gave me three 5 Gallon Buckets, they are White and had Soy Sauce in em. They are real clean, but have a little stain on em from the Soy Sauce. That's what brought up my question on Clorox. I soaked em in Clorox over nite, thinking that would bleach out the stain. No luck, the stain is tilll in em. Any ideas' on how to get the stain out, or is it hurting anything ?

IMO - go for it - i think they will be alright.

If they are not alright - you will find out soon enough :h

They are definitely food grade. How are you wanting to use this bucket?

I would not use bleach, myself, but to each his own. I would put two cups of oxyclean in it and fill it all the way to the top with hot water; dissolve the oxyclean well. Let this set for several days, then rinse well and make sure oxyclean residue is off the walls of the bucket by lite scrubbing with a cloth.

I do this with icing buckets from Wal-Mart bakery. They will give them away, but you have to clean them. I don't use them for fermenting, but for corkadors, sanitizing bucket for hoses, degassing, bottling, ..etc.

The soy stain likely won't hurt anything. However, just my own opinion, but I wouldn't use it for fermenting or any other long term storage of wine
