Alcohol content without initial SG reading

Learning my way through wine making!

I did not take an initial SG reading when starting my Elderberry wine. Can I still find out the alcohol content without it? It does not taste like the alcohol content is at a normal wine level. Is there a gadget out there to provide this level?

Indirectly you can get an idea of it. Get a refractometer (which doesn't measure correctly in the presence of alcohol). Measure your sg using that, and with a hydrometer. Then use the online calculator to guess at what the original sg was. Once you have that you are good to go.
